ED has taken into custody two managing group directors of the Reliance Anil Ambani Group under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, related to investigations involving Reliance Communications Ltd and Reliance Infrastructure Ltd. Doshi and Sateesh Seth are arrested in this matter. Doshi is arrested in a separate ECIR related to Reliance Communications Ltd and others. In contrast, Seth is arrested in an ECIR linked to Reliance Infrastructure Ltd. Doshi played a crucial role in building corporate structures that were used to divert crime proceeds from Reliance Telecom and Reliance Communications, while Seth was siphoning off public funds.
Doshi looked after multiple Overseas and Indian group entities and compliance, risk management, and taxation, according to the ED, while Seth served across the power and infrastructure business. Both of them were presented at different locations: Seth at the special PMLA court in Dwarka and granted custody to the ED for six days, while Doshi was produced at Rouse Avenue in New Delhi and granted custody to the ED for five days, and further investigation is going on in this matter.
