In a deforestation scandal, the investigation is still going on. This deforestation scam took place in different districts of Jharkhand during the COVID-19 outbreak, and the two DSP rank officers and an IPS officer are investigating the case. CID has again opened the re-examination of evidence and old documents related to this case. The accused and other forest department officers are also involved in this case, and the investigation is ongoing. Senior CID officers said that two accused are on bail, and two are arrested in this matter. Further action will be taken based on the evidence available.
During the 2020 pandemic, hundreds of valuable and authentic trees were cut in different districts of Jamtara, Chaibasa, Palamu, and Ranchi. These trees were shipped in 200 trucks, and forest officers were suspicious in this case. FIRs were filed in different areas, and CID was investigating the matter.
Maharaj Singh Ranger has been arrested, CID informed the court, and the prosecution approval has been granted against Muhafiz Ansari. The High Court has expressed disappointment because of the delay in the investigation and demanded a response from the Jharkhand government. Now, CID is investigating the case file thoroughly and focusing on all the officials involved in this case. CID official has clarified that this case is in its final stage and soon action will be taken based on the evidence available.
