Foreign portfolio investors sold stocks for a consistent four months, but the buyers are again back in India and investing worth Rs 24,662 crore in the first 10 days of July itself. Investment is back after the West Asia conflict has stopped.
RBI eased access to sovereign bonds and removed tax frictions in July, and equity inflows led to 61 percent, followed by $697 million investments through a fully accessible route. On 9th July, there is a foreign investment worth of $978 million in a single day. Till June, foreign investors had sold $5.1 billion of Indian stocks.
Only at the start of July, Rs 15,157 crore investment is seen from foreign investors. Macquarie analyst says that a large chunk of the investments is coming into financial services. As Taiwan and Korea are volatile, India would be a stable economic investment for foreign investors, said a Macquarie analyst.
