Social activist, Sonam Wangchuk, has been on hunger strike for the past 21st day and, due to weak health, was admitted to Safdarjung hospital on 18th July. According to the hospital, due to prolonged dehydration, Sonam Wangchuk is stable now and needs continuous monitoring.
Delhi High Court ordered that due to his bad health, Sonam Wangchuk should be shifted to the hospital. Sonam Wangchuk has been on a hunger strike for the past 20 days as he is demanding the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, the Education Minister, over the NEET paper leak. Sonam Wangchuk's wife, Gitanjali Angmo, said that doctors should first consult her before administering medical treatment to Sonam Wangchuk. She also said that there was no need to hospitalize him, and he was doing fine. Social activist Sonam Wangchuk has already lost eight kilos due to dehydration and fasting. The Delhi High Court has ordered that it do whatever it takes to save the life of social activist Sonam Wangchuk.
