PM Modi has downsized his convoy as a part of fuel conservation due to West Asia tensions. PM's recent visit to Assam and Gujarat saw this move to reduce his convoy, as Modi has urged Indians to downsize diesel and petrol consumption, use electric vehicles, and opt for work from home. PM has also appealed to Indians to stop gold purchase and avoid foreign trips for minimum a year to reduce foreign exchange because of the current energy situation across the world.
PM has implemented these measures so that Indians will also follow and reduce his convoy size by 50 percent. First, in a conference in Hyderabad, PM Narendra Modi urged Indians to follow these measures, and he himself followed during his domestic visits. According to sources, the prime minister's security is protected, and measures are taken care of properly. Only the number of vehicles has reduced, while the security arrangements remain in place.
Modiji in Assam during the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister also distributed PM Modi's speech copies and asked to implement due to the West Asia crisis. The action plan distributed among states calls for the adoption of energy-saving alternatives, virtual meetings, and the use of electric vehicles, and to reduce fuel consumption due to international instability.
There is no shortage of fuel, but due to the tensions in the West Asia crisis, the government is taking necessary measures due to the uncertainty around crude oil supplies. The government is also implementing other measures like opting for public transport, limiting office travel, and choosing to work from home. According to officials, citizens, institutions, and states should contribute towards fuel conservation efforts and save foreign exchange.
