India and Sweden become strategic partners for economic and security development. In a recent visit of PM Modi to Gothenburg with PM Ulf Kristersson, they had a meeting and adopted a joint action plan for 2026-2030 that would strengthen the partnership between India and Sweden across different sectors.
This Innovation Collaboration between India and Sweden would provide a deep collaboration across life sciences, quantum computing, AI, 6 G, space, and sustainable mining, renewable energy, security, and smart infrastructure. Another strategic partnership is included in the AI corridor and India-Sweden Technology to strengthen digital infrastructure and AI developments.
Another point discussed in the meeting was the investment target and bilateral trade to double between India and Sweden in the next five years, which would support business and India's Make In India program. Startups and SME between India and Sweden would generate employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth.
Also, the Tagore-Sweden Lecture series will be introduced under Vikas Bhi Virasat Bhi, which would strengthen people-to-people engagement and intellectual and cultural ties between India and Sweden.
