Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu said in a recent Twitter post that the company does not wish to expand its work-from-home policy even after PM Modi asked companies to reduce travel and choose work-from-home. Sridhar Vembu said that research and the team need a problem-solving approach, and productivity levels are hampered if employees work from home. PM Modi has asked companies and citizens to choose public transport and work-from-home options due to increased crude oil prices in the international market.
He shared in a Twitter post that employees' productivity levels are best w when they work from the office, especially the research and development team. He said that development takes longer if they are not meeting the people involved in the project to solve the problem. Collaboration works effectively and offers better solutions to the development problem. Also, Vembu said that Zoho has already invested in solar and is using electric cookware for cooking in canteens and electric buses for transport to reduce fuel consumption.
