As Jharkhand State-run Shravani Mela preparations have begun, health workers are raising concerns as the same people are allotted duty, and daily and travel allowances are pending from 2016.
Jharkhand Multipurpose State Employee Union has also sent a letter to the Health Department Director General to intervene in this problem. Pawan Kumar, State President, said that 40 health workers are required from each state for Shravani Mela duty, but the same health workers name repeat every year. The union says that health workers who were not assigned duty in Dumka or Deoghar should be assigned for Shravani Mela duty.
Also, the union has raised the problem of the pending DA and TA matter, and health workers in several districts have not been paid since 2016. The department has not paid Rs 20,000 for 20 day duty, according to the union.
The union has clarified that if the health employees don’t get payment and old employees are assigned for Shravani Mela duty, then they will protest, and if any law and order arises, then health officials will be responsible in such a case.
