A Jharkhand woman was sold by a couple from Meerut to a Barmer Family for Rs 3 Lakh. This woman was promised a job by a man in Delhi and was taken from a village in the Kurdeg police station area in Simdega.
Ranvir Singh, DSP, said that first this woman was working as a domestic help and she ran from the house after a few days. While moving near Anand Vihar bus stand in Delhi, a couple from Meerut took the Jharkhand woman with them and sold her to a family in Barmer for Rs 3 lakh near the India-Pakistan border. Police have said that the woman gave birth to a child and was tortured by the family. Later, the woman contacted her mother, and her parents filed an FIR at Simdega at the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit. After that, a special police team was formed to rescue the 22-year-old woman from Simdega, and she was brought back home safely.
