On 4th June, the first-ever Yogasana World Sport Event took place in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This event brought together more than 500 yogasana artists from across 70 countries, including Sri Lanka, Kenya, Nepal, Japan, Uganda, the Netherlands, the USA, Oman and Zambia. This meet featured different age category yogasana contestants across the world, including artistic yogasana, traditional yogasana and rhythmic pairs. This included all the junior, sub-junior and senior level artisans, including both men and women.
Contestants showcased their skills across different categories like rhythmic pair events, artistic single, artistic group and conventional yogasana, and artistic single alongside discipline-specific competitions such as twisting body, supine category, forward bend, hand balance and back bend. National Federation for Indian Sports, Yogasana Bharat has organized this event in association with the Indian Olympic Association and World Yogasana.
PM Modi had joined the event virtually on 4th June 2026. PM Modi wished all the participants good luck for this championship and said that Yoga is world-famous, and this event has brought all the Yoga enthusiasts from across the globe.
