India-Africa Forum Summit was planned from 28 to 31st May, but it has been postponed because of the Ebola outbreak in parts of Africa, the External Affairs Ministry stated. This decision was jointly taken by the Union of India and Africa. World Health Organization has declared the Ebola outbreak in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. India and Africa were working for the convening of the fourth India-Africa Forum Summit but had to delay the summit through mutual consent. India stands with Africa during this emergency health situation and continues to support Africa.
Also, Indira Gandhi International, Delhi airport has issued a public health advisory: any passenger arriving or transiting through Ebola-affected countries showing any alarming signs of fever, sore throat, muscle pain, fever or headache must report to the health officials at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. Passengers who had direct contact with a confirmed or suspected Ebola patient must inform the health officials at the Delhi airport. Delhi airport has asked travellers to cooperate with the health officials for health safety and screening in compliance with International Health Regulations.
